I met Kathryn and Nate in front of the Beneficence statue at Ball State University! Though it was my first time meeting them, I instantly liked this couple! They both attended my alma mater, Ball State. They met because of a campus ministry, the same one that helped me meet my wife. It was so awesome to work with and hear their story. Plus, Kathryn had just come back from a long trip overseas where she worked with friends of Jenn and mine from college. This shoot gave me all the feels. Fountain Square Couple Portraits with Aunjalee and Joe
I just love shooting in Fountain Square. There’s so much art and character in that neighborhood of Indianapolis! This shoot with Aunjalee and Joe was brilliant! They were both so wonderful and smiley and happy the whole time! There are a few photos here. California Coast Engagement Shoot with Lauren and Campbell
Jenn and I traveled to California recently for an engagement shoot! Jenn did most of the shooting on this trip, but I took a few photos and really wanted to share this video I shot with the drone while I was trying to do some drone shots at the end of the shoot. It took a lot of photoshopping on Jenn’s part to get all of the seaweed and people out of the drone shots. It was a busy beach. We got the shots we were hoping to get though, which is the important part. We also had somewhat of a failure moment during the drone shots though. Scroll down and watch the video to see that. Willows Wedding with Kristin and Ben in Broad Ripple
I had so much fun capturing Kristin and Ben’s wedding in Broad Ripple at the Willows! Just like their engagement session, their wedding was a ton of fun. I found myself laughing throughout almost the entire day as the two of them interacted and made jokes! This wedding was one of those weddings where the sun unfortunately hid behind a group of clouds, so we couldn’t do sunset shots like normal. So instead i had to get a flash out and fake the sunset shots. They turned out great though and I absolutely loved it. Head over to Jennifer Van Elk Photography to see the rest of the photos!
Fountain Square Neighborhood Engagement with Sara and Sean
I met Sara and Sean outside the Fountain Square Theater and immediately knew their shoot would be a lot of fun! They were both so nice and friendly, and they seemed so excited to do an engagement session! So we walked around the Fountain Square area and took some photos in front of the graffiti and store fronts down there. It was so much fun!
