The sun was setting and it was time to run outside to make use of the beautiful light. Unfortunately, by the time we were able to get outside, the sun had already dropped below the horizon. I looked at my second shooter, Ryan, and asked him if he’d been able to find any places which still had some great light. Ryan suggested using off camera flash and just getting a little creative. I’m so glad he did because those photos ended up being some of my favorite photos of this last year. So glad this Muncie wedding with Kristen and Tyler was so much fun and that we were able to capture so many beautiful moments throughout their day.
So, one thing that was pretty unique about this wedding was a family tradition that I hadn’t seen before. The groom’s relatives chose to honor this family tradition and lock Tyler up with a ball and chain at the reception. To get the combination to take the lock off his leg, Tyler had to run around and ask a bunch of relatives for advice. The idea being that they didn’t want him to view his wife as a ball and chain, as is often joked about, so he had to get a bunch of advice about how to be a great husband and keep the love alive in their marriage. It was really funny to watch him scramble to get that ball and chain off his leg. He got it done in record time though. I’m so glad I was able to capture this amazing wedding with Tyler and Kristen.
